R Schreiber & Co. listed from 1916-1918.
There are no Schreiber Bros. Co. Distillers at the address shown on this glass.
According to a descendent, "the distillery was their [Schreiber Bros.] first business. They made a cherry liqueur up in Michigan and then brought it down to Chicago. But the cherry liqueur wasn't made with the right amount of fruit to meet the quality standards, so eventually that business was forced to close. However, by that point, they had the infrastructure to get the liquor from Michigan to Chicago, and by then, they also owned bars and real estate in Chicago. So they rebranded as Schreiber Brothers Distributors. Eventually, they closed all their liquor businesses in the city and made their money (mostly) in real estate. " (thanks to hewrote@***.*** for providing the information).
