A patented lock-stopper from the Hayner Distilling Co of Dayton, OH. The lock-stopper was designed to fit and lock into the neck of a back-bar decanter that has been molded with a ring to accept the locking mechanism. It is approximately 2-1/4" long and 1-1/4" across the face.

This example is comparatively rare and may one of the older models. The face is inscribed with numerals with no divisons (as in the orginal patent), but the body is now brass. The container in which it was mailed is a cylinder with crimped closures, and now mentions the Dayton, St. Louis, St. Paul and Chattanooga offices.
