A patented lock-stopper from the Hayner Distilling Co of Dayton, OH. The lock-stopper was designed to fit and lock into the neck of a back-bar decanter that has been molded with a ring to accept the locking mechanism. It is approximately 2" long and 1-1/4" across the face.

This example is comparatively rare and may one of the older models. The body appears to be nickel-plated or untreated steel rather than brass and the face is inscribed with numerals with no divisons (as in the orginal patent). The container in which it was mailed was a box rather than the more common cylinder with crimped closures, and mentions only the Dayton office.
