A souvenir from the Elks convention held in Denver, CO. in 1906. It features a gold elks head stamped with the customary clockface, from which hangs a silvered barrel. The front is textured to look like a barrel and has a legend "The Revenue City. / $35,000,000 Collected Annually. / 1/16 of entire expense / of US Government, / Peoria, Ill. / No. 20 B.P.O.E. / Denver,Colo. 1906. The reverse of the barrel is simple and reads "Clarke Bros. & Co., Distillers of Clarke's Pure Rye, Peoria, Ill. Presumably the brooch was worn by the Peoria delagation to the Denver convention.
