A clear glass flask that still contains "Dougherty's Private Stock Pure Rye Whiskey", from J A Dougherty Son's Inc. of Philadelphia, PA. The neck label notes that the whiskey is "14 Summers Old, Superior Quality for Medical Use": made in 1916, bottled in 1930. It has a capacity of one pint. The label on the reverse shows that it was distilled by the Dougherty facility in Philadelphia. The rear also identifies the contents as "Rx Spiritus Frumenti, 100 proof", or medicinal whiskey for sale by prescription only.
