To the left is a medal on a ribbon. The ribbon is topped by an eagle and is in the form of old glory, while the medal is a 5-pointed star with a picture of uniformed men shaking hands. Around perimeter in tiny tsp letters is): GRAND ARMY OF THE REPUBLIC (arched) 1861 VETERANS 1866 (reverse arched).
