Distillery was located in MO, Poplar Bluff, while brand owners had their office in Chicago (HSG).

In 1874, A D Hannah and David Hogg, natives of Scotland, purchased "The Thistle" at 190 W Madison and adopted the thistle as their Trademark, which they used in connection with their subsequently opened "wet goods" stores at 222 s Clark, 188 w Madison, 146 e Madison, 83 Madison, 161 w Madison, 151 Randolph, 112 e Monroe and 88 LaSalle sts. By 1904, they are shown at 307-309 Wabash (1904-1907), later at 248-250 S Desplaines St. (1908), 441 S Desplaines (1909-1910) and then 37-39 E South Water (1913 to Prohibition.

Brand names used by this company include: "Emerald", "Grayland", "Hamilton Club", "Hannah & Hogg", "Home Rule", "Jim", "Old Cameron", "Ramshead", "Silver Thistle", and "Willow Dale."
