In the spring of 1895 he embarked in the wholesale liquor trade, in which he has since done a thriving and profitable business at Tenth and Main, and later also at 6 and 8 North First Street, having bought, in 1899, a business long conducted there by S. Gimbel, and after his death by his heirs.
