Insurance underwriter records compiled in 1892 suggest that the distillery was of frame construction, located 12 miles west of Lebanon. The property once included a warehouse but it had burned. A cattle shed located 75 ft east of the still remained. At that time, it was being operated by Blair & Ballard. Note that the insurance records may be at odds with the government records, which show warehouse transactions carried out in 1898-1901 by Sam Sims, but in or near the town of Douglas, Casey Co. (see below) |
