RD #450, 5 th District |
Insurance underwriter records compiled in 1892 suggest that the distillery was of frame construction and the grounds included three bonded warehouses: Warehouse A -- frame construction and a shingle roof, 140 ft SE of the still. Warehouse B -- frame construction and a shingle roof 150 ft SE of the still. Warehouse C -- iron-clad with a metal or slate roof, sitting atop a hill 100 ft NE of the still. In 1892, the still was owned by Newton Bros. Note that these records also show an RD #450 in Nelson County. |
