The Anderson County Distillery |
Insurance underwriter records compiled in 1892 suggest that the distillery was of frame construction. The property included cattle in pens 30 ft west of the still, and four warehouses: Warehouse A, 1 -- frame construction with a shingle roof, 55 ft SW of the still. Warehouse B, 2 -- frame construction with a shingle roof, 55 ft SW of the still and 4 ft from "A". Warehouse C, 3 -- frame construction with a metal or slate roof, 250 ft SE of the still. Free Warehouse -- frame construction with a metal or slate roof, 200 ft SE of the still. At that time, it was owned by John E Day, operating as "Anderson County Distillery". |
