Acid-Etched and Engraved Labels | |
A few glasses did actually have their label applied by etching with acid. One can tell a true etched glass from the more common applied label by running a finger nail gently over the label. Etching a glass creates a depression. It's also easy to tell the two apart with a magnifier. Labels were also applied to some glasses by cutting or grinding. Again, these are easy to identify with a finger nail. |
