It's hard to be critical of this photo because it's such a nice glass, but it is a classic example of reflected glare from the light source.

This photographer did everything right: a beautiful old glass in mint condition, a nice pleasing and clean background, tight focus on the glass, and the image is as crisp as you please. The only problem is that the light being used to illuminate the glass is being reflected right back into the camera lens and creating the two ugly highlights.

I'm not quite sure how this photo was set up but my guess would be that the glass is lying on its side on the blue background, the camera is mounted directly overhead, and the light source is a double fluorescent strip light overhead.
