Spruance, Stanley & Co. listed from 1867-1906. *Glass measurements have not been confirmed. "S L Stanley, John Spruance and C C Chapman. Successors to H Webster & Co. and J & J Spruance." (display ad. Note the former business ceases listing in 1872 and the new company shows up at the Webster address). According to the Wilsons, J & J Spruance established a company in 1868 that survived until 1872. John Spruance then partnered with Samuel L Stanley to create Spruance, Stanley & Co. C C Chapman was included in the "Co." according to an invoice dated 1876. Thomas (WBOW) suggests that Aaron H Powers also served as a third partner and that in later years, Spruance, Stanley & Co. consisted of just John Spruance and Charles W Fore. The company had outlets in San Fancisco and Sacramento and were importers and wholesalers. They were wiped out by the 1906 earthquake. Brand names used by this company include: "Kentucky Favorite", "O.P.T. Whiskey", and "Sunflower Pennsylvania Rye." Company name timeline: J & J Spruance (1867-1871), Spruance, Stanley & Co.
