Edmonson suggests that this glass sells the "Imperial Crown" brand owned by Carroll & Carroll, later McDonald & Cohn, but the crown is seen on all the Gilt Edge glasses and hence represents either trademark infringment or a bona fide Wichman, Lutgen & Co. glass

Snyder notes that the Gilt Edge brand was first registered in 1877 to Woolner Bros, of Peoria, IL. It was again registered in 1899 to Wichman - Lutgen Co. of San Francisco. HSG (p. 73) also has a Gilt Edge glass branded by Loeb, Bloom & Co., of Paducah, KY.

The Autocrat brand was contested between the CA firm and Edwin Schiele of St. Louis, MO (OASG)

Brand names used by this company include: "Autocrat", "Foerster's Whiskey Co.", "Forest Lawn", "Forester's Malt Whiskey", "Forrest Lawn Whiskey", "Gilt Edge", "Gilt Edge", "H & H", "Identical", "Marin County Club Bourbon", "Marin County Club Special", "Old Identical", "Pomona", "Romona", "Silver Edge", "Silver Plover", and "Silver Plover Gin."
