An invoice dated 1888 shows Bigbie Bros. & Co. to consist of W B Bigbie, J D Bigbie, and P T Withers Jr. The Bigbie brothers, who were originally from Newbern, VA., were William and John Draper. The invoice also claims the company to be "successors to Jos Lawson & Son," who they apparently bought out on May 1, 1887.

Interestingly, Jos Lawson & Son are operating at the 100 9th St address after Bigbie Bros. & Co. have moved to main St. P T Withers Jr was also involved in that company and they were using the Old Velvet and Glenwood brands also.
