The Roth Company was established in 1859 by Joseph Roth. The original premises were in the old US Court building nr. Oregon St.

In 1867, Joseph partnered with Henry Videau who was later (1876) bought out by H.L. Levy.

In 1879 Levy was bought out by Adolph Roos and Simon Scheeling who took over the business when Roth died in 1891.

By 1906, Roos had sold out to the Scheelings (Edwin & Mrs Simon Scheeling) and the business was on Market Street.

The '06 earthquake destroyed the premises but they rebuilt at 117 Front Street (history from Thomas, WBOW).
