"Distillers and refiners of alcohol, French spirits, copper distilled malt, bourbon and rye whiskies. Also manufacturers of pure cider and cider vinegar. A large stock of imported wines & liquors constantly on hand" (1870, p. 137; 1871, p. 472). 1876 (p. 594) contains a large picture display ad: " A new brick building, 50 x 132 feet, was erected during the year 1875, for the exclusive manufacture of CIDER and VINEGAR. State Street Horse Cars pass within a few feet of our building". Same ad. in 1879 (p. 566) - W B Duffy, President & Treasurer, A S Bigelow, Sec'y and Sup't. In 1882, the company becomes the Rochester Distilling Co.
