OASG suggests listings start in 1898 as wholesale wine & liquor dealer at 5th & Market sts, but I can't verify this.
Up until 1901, Theodore was a part of Netter Bros but leaves by 1902 to set up on his own. He also had a branch in Chicago from 1907-1914.
The 1915 Philadelphia directory lists Theodore & Hilda Netter as being owners, although in 1919/1920 Theodore is the only one listed.
Prohibition forced the business to revamp and the 1921 directory shows Theodore as being involved in "Dining". Apparently he died the shortly afterwards because Hilda is listed as "widow" in 1925.
Interestingly, a corkscrew from this company shows the address for "Eastern Orders" to be 32 North Third St, which does not correspond to any of the addresses listed above. It also shows a Cincinnati location for the Netter Distilling Co.
The company used the brand names: "American Perfection", "Crystal Creek Rye", "Juniper Leaf Gin ", "Lord Cecil Gin", "Netter's Silver Label", "Netters Famous No. 10 Rye", and "Old Phillie." | | Business name timeline: Theodore Netter
