The Sunny Brook Distillery Co. was owned and run by Rosenfield Bros & Co. in Chicago.
The Sunny Brook brand was established in 1891 and sold nationally in 1892. At that time, Rosenfield Bros & Co. was drawing liquor from warehouses of the J B Wathen & Bro. Co. distillery (RD #363, 5th District of KY): see the distillery listing for more details, and they also had a stake in the J G Mattingly & Bro. distillery (RD #2, 5th District) in Louisville, KY.
During the same year, Rosenfield Bros & Co. purchased the Sunny Brook (RD # 297) and Willow Creek (RD #5) Distilleries, which were housed under the same roof at 28th & Broadway in Louisville. Their letterheads continue to show them as Proprietors, under the "Sunny Brook Distillery Co." banner.
In 1914, there was a company reorganization during which the distillery properties were sold to the Sunny Brook Distillery Co., with Morris Rosenfield as President, Joseph Sampson Rosenfield as Secretary.
Louis Rosenfield acquired the distilleries and brands in 1917. The distillery buildings were used as concentration warehouses during Prohibition and Sunny Brook continued to be sold as a medicinal whiskey.
In 1933, the properties became a part of American Medical Spirits, and later National Distillers. Business name timeline: Sunny Brook & Willow Creek Distillery Cos. (1893-1895), Sunny Brook Distillery Co. (1896-1917)

1860 - distillers page v difficult to read, 1872 unreadable, 1873 much missing, 1875 partial no DR, 1900 missing, 1903 no Wine & Liquor, 1904 J-S is unreadable, 1909: Major street renumbering with relocation of the E/W divide, 1911: minimal listing, another street renumbering, 1912 is missing, 1914: half distillers missing, 1915 no street addresses for distillers, 1917 no distillers in the business database, but includes the Telephone directory listings, 1918 no distillers and based on telephone directory only. There is some confusion on the dates of the directory - there were 4 sets variously labeled 1916-1919 but there were multiple xing out and inaccuracies. 1917 is a good bet, 1918 could be later. 1918: 5 th Ave becomes Wells
