Max Reefer and his wife lived at 37th and Pennsylvania, Kansas City, MO. My paternal grandparents, Jack and Arene, died in 1920 as a result of the final phase of the flu epidemic, leaving my father and his brother orphaned at ages 4 and 7 respectively.
