The Fern Cliff Distillery |
The distillery was located on the east side of Logan (orignally #1713, becoming #815), between Breckinridge and Lampton.It was run as the Fern Cliff Distilling Co., with Joesph Schwab as President. Insurance underwriter records compiled in 1892 suggest that the distillery was of frame construction. The property included a cattle shed 40 ft east of the still. It supplied thee warehouses: Warehouse A -- a Free warehouse, built of brick with a metal or slate roof and located 40 ft south of the still. Warehouse B -- iron-clad with a metal or slate roof, located 100 ft south of the still Warehouse C -- iron-clad with a metal or slate roof, located 156 ft south of the still. At that time, it was being operated by Jos. Schwab Jr., as the "Pride of Anderson Distilling Co.", late Fern Cliff Distilling Co. |
