RD #270, 5 th District
Marion County, KY

(Est. 1788)

The distillery was located on the Wathen family farm near Lebanon, KY., where the Brewster branch runs into Rolling Fork, categorized as a stream.

1788: The distillery was established by Henry Hudson Wathen (1756-1851). His son Richard Wathen (1815-1880) expanded it and operated it until shortly before the Civil War, when his son John Bernard ("Barney") Wathen (1844-1919) took over operations.

Warehouse B -- a Free warehouse, located 300 ft east
Warehouse C -- located 400 ft east.
Free warehouse -- a former cistern room located 300 ft east
A cattle shed stood 140 ft south of the still.

At that time, it was being operated by "Watham, Mueller & Co."

1931: The still house was destroyed by fire but the property was acquired and renovated by John A Wathen who later sold it to Schenley.
